Wewak Part 2, Papua, New Guinea on the northern coast was the administrative center for the Sepik district of the Trust Territory of New Guinea in 1963. We were providing upper air weather support to the 1370th Photo Mapping Wing, Aerial Survey Team 7 (AST7) for the photo mapping of the Western Pacific. I spent three and a half months here with two other airmen. We lived in an Englishman's house and sometimes used his car, our weather site was just a short walk away. Again the Aussies treated us just great and couldn't be more open and friendly.
